PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Depression is known as a strong predictor of poor adherence to many medications. When people are depressed they often do not take the drugs prescribed to try and help them.

According to a report in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society, there is a particular problem with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other lung conditions.
