'The Godfather With The Philadelphia Orchestra' At The Mann Center

By RJ McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Mann Center presents "The Godfather with the Philadelphia Orchestra" on June 25th at 7:30 p.m.

Catherine Cahill, the president and CEO of the Mann, shared what to expect.

"The music is actually stripped out from the film itself. And so you will hear everything – the talking, the sound effects, and you have the entire movie – but the actually music and the soundtrack will be played live by the Orchestra in sync with the movie," Cahill explained. "It is a magical, magnificent experience."

So, what does the Mann Center look for in a movie?

"So memorable and so beautifully orchestrated that both the audience just bathes in the glory of that music, but equally, that the orchestra musicians feel that it is appropriate for their great talent," Cahill said.
