Cloistered Order of 'Pink Sisters,' Based in Fairmount, Mark 100 Years in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A group of cloistered nuns celebrates 100 years in Philadelphia.
Banners affixed to the Chapel of Divine Love, at 22nd and Green Street, in Fairmount, testified to the milestone for the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters.

Sister Mary Caritas (center of top photo) says they also known as the "Pink Sisters," for their rose colored tunics.
"Our first sisters came from our mother house in Steyl, Holland," she tells KYW Newsradio, "so the occasion we're actually celebrating is the anniversary of their arrival."
Cloistered nuns rarely if ever leave the convent, and most of them are secluded from contact with the general public.
