Texans Sign Former Eagles RB Chris Polk

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Wednesday afternoon, the Texans announced the signing of former Eagles RB Chris Polk. Polk became the odd man out in Philadelphia following the signings of DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews.

Polk was a restricted free agent this off-season, but the Eagles opted to rescind his tender making him an unrestricted free agent.

Polk came to the Eagles in 2012 as an undrafted free agent and was third on the depth chart last season behind LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.

In 57 carries, Polk rushed for 270 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded six catches for 77 yards in 36 career regular season games with the Eagles.

Terms of Polk's deal with the Texans have not been disclosed.
