Terror Behind The Walls Returns At Eastern State Penitentiary

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's the largest haunted house in the country: "Terror Behind The Walls" at Eastern State Penitentiary in Fairmount. It opens this Friday!

The Terror Behind The Walls zombies have awoken from their hibernation at Easter State Penitentiary.

Their friends, two giant gargoyles, are lifted into place announcing to the neighborhood: it's terror time.

There are six haunted houses in one. A glow necklace signals to the ghouls that you give them permission to touch, grab, and even take you from your group.

Creative Director Amy Hollaman says for an extra fee, you and your friends can try the new hex challenge.

"They'll face challenges. They have to solve problems together, sometimes to save one another, and ultimately they will have to try and escape the prison," explained Hollaman.

There is a new iteration of the popular lockdown attraction called "Lockdown the Uprising."

Terror Behind the Walls runs on selected nights starting Friday September 16th, and runs through November 5th.
