Temple's Ousted Provost Hits Back Against Sexual Harassment Claims

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The recently dismissed Temple University Provost is vehemently denying allegations that he sexually harassed an employee before the university fired him late last month.
Temple dismissed Hai-Lung Dai after the discovery of a $22-million deficit in the university's financial aid budget, but the school did not say that was the reason for his ouster.

Now, Dai has released a statement through his attorney, claiming that someone leaked confidential information about an employee who is accusing him of sexual harassment.
In the statement, Dai says he worked with the university to discipline the unnamed worker for well-documented infractions and that the worker made the harassment allegations after she was disciplined.
He calls the accusations retaliatory and completely frivolous, and criticizes the public release of information regarding a private, personnel matter.
Dai says he intends to make every effort to restore his good name, including court action, if necessary.
