Temple Wins 4th Straight, 61-48 Over South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Will Cummings scored 19 points to go over 1,000 points in his career as Temple beat South Florida 61-48 on Wednesday for its fourth straight win.

Cummings was 4 of 12 from the field and 10 of 14 from the free throw line to reach 1,005 points in his four-year career as an Owl. He's the 50th player in program history to reach the mark.

Temple (16-7, 7-3 American) trailed by as many as eight, 21-13, in the first half but closed on a 10-3 run to pull within 24-23 at the break.

Jesse Morgan scored seven of Temple's first 15 points of the second half and his 3-pointer gave Temple a 38-31 lead. He finished with nine points.

Corey Allen Jr. scored 16 points for South Florida (7-16, 1-9) and Nehemias Morillo added 12. Ruben Guerrero grabbed 14 rebounds and had four blocks.
