Temple University Releases Report On Campus Sexual Misconduct

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A national report shows that 1 in 5 college students experience sexual assault in their college career. Temple University has been studying it's campus environment for the last year, and has issued a report on it's findings regarding sexual assault.

The ACLU says 95-percent of all campus rapes go unreported. Last year, Temple began looking into what it could do to counter that trend. Stephanie Ives is Temple's Associate Vice-President of Student Affairs. She says the report calls for more student education and awareness.

"There are online training programs that we're exploring right now that are about 30-to-45-minutes each, and that we can require students to do," Ives says.

The latest data for Temple's main campus shows 8 sexual assaults reported in 2013.
