Temple University Debuts Latest Renovations At Center City Campus

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple University has high hopes for a newly opened cafe and bookstore at its Center City campus.

The brightly-lit cafe featuring big splashes of cherry and white was already pulling in customers as Temple officials cut the ribbon next door inside the newly renovated lobby. Temple University Center City Director Bill Parshall says the makeover comes at a perfect time.

"The creation of Dilworth Park and wonderful new entrance to the Broad Street subway really contribute to a better sense of security and safety among our students," said Parshall.

Upstairs, the Fox School of Business has created a new collaborative learning center that appears to be a big hit among students.

"It looks really nice. The view is amazing. It's kind of cool how it coincided with the Dilworth Plaza opening. The lighting is excellent."

"I absolutely love it. It's very inviting to come into and the collaborative work space we have now is fantastic. I love it."

And there's more to come. Temple officials plan to renovate classrooms and upgrade the technology.
