Temple Football Ranked 22 In First College Football Playoff Rankings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple Football's special season continued on Tuesday nights as the first College Football Playoff Rankings for the season were announced. Temple comes in at No. 22 on the list on the strength of their 7-1 record.

The Owls only loss on the season was a 24-20 loss to Notre Dame on Halloween night. Notre Dame was ranked No. 5 in the rankings.

This will mark the second season for the College Football Playoff which pits the Top 4 teams in the country against each other in a playoff type format to determine the National Champion.

The top team in the first rankings was Clemson.
