Temple Defeats Houston 66-54 To End Two-Game Skid

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Quenton DeCosey scored 16 points and Jaylen Bond added 15 more to lead Temple to a 66-54 win over Houston on Thursday night.

Will Cummings contributed 14 points and Jesse Morgan added 10 as Temple (20-9, 11-5 American) controlled the boards 40-31 to snap a two-game skid. DeCosey, who scored 12 of his total points in the second half, and Bond also pulled down nine rebounds apiece.

Trailing by five at the break, Temple took the lead early in the second half with Bond's dunk and later broke away with an 11-2 spurt capped by Josh Brown's 3-pointer to make it 52-43 with 8:19 left. The Owls held off Houston (9-18, 1-14) the rest of the way.

LeRon Barnes led Houston with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Devonta Pollard added 14 and Danrad Knowles had 13. The Cougars have lost 14 of their last 16 games.
