Teen Shot In Leg In Burlington

BURLINGTON (CBS) -- A teenager was shot in the leg in Burlington on Thursday night.

Burlington Police say that while they were conducting a motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of York Street around 6:53 p.m., they heard gunshots.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy from Moorestown, New Jersey, shot in the leg.

The teen was initially transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro before being transferred to Cooper Medical Center in Camden. He is currently in stable condition.

Burlington Police Chief Alan Snow called on the public for help.

"The acts of violence the City of Burlington have observed this year threatens the progress of what our leaders, working very hard, envision our community for the future," Snow said, adding that the community needs "to come together and identify the individuals responsible for causing terror amongst our most vulnerable residents."

No arrests have been made.
