Teen Shot In Head, Killed In Southwest Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say a 16-year-old is dead after he was shot in the head Sunday evening in the Elmwood neighborhood of Philadelphia.

This happened around 6:45 p.m. on the 6300 block of Reedland Street.

The victim was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with a reported nose bleed according to police. It was determined he was shot and he was pronounced dead around 7:30 p.m.

The victim's grandmother says he was hanging out with family during the incident after not seeing them for some time. She says he's a good boy that's never been in trouble.

The circumstances of the shooting are unclear at this time. No arrests have been made.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
