Police Search For 2 Suspects Wanted In Deadly Hit-And-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police are searching for two people who left the scene of a fatal accident in the city's Tacony section overnight.

Police were called to the intersection of Disston Street and Torresdale Avenue around 12:30 a.m.

On scene they found three victims. One of the vicims, a 33-year-old man, was ejected about 30 feet from a Toyota sedan and pronounced dead at an area hospital a short time later. Chief Inspector Scott Small says the other two people - the driver, a 31-year-old man, and the second passenger, a 27-year-old woman- were also injured.

Small says witnesses saw a man and a woman get out of the other vehicle and run off from the scene, and that the woman who ran off had injuries to her head.

"I heard a bang, and I seen a guy and a girl coming around the block, and the girl's face was filled with blood all over," said witness Angelo Giorno. "She was telling her boyfriend, or whatever, that she wasn't feeling good, that she didn't think she could walk and that she didn't feel right. He just said, 'Come on, we gotta go.'"

An unattended vehicle was also hit in the crash.

Police are hoping surveillance cameras from businesses in the area can help identify the two people who left the scene.
