Swarms Of Mayflies Descend On Lancaster County

LANCASTER, Pa. (CBS) – Thousands of mayflies have descended on Lancaster County.

People reported problems even driving through the swarms.

While the flies only live for a day, they reproduce and can increase their numbers in a very short time.

It's not clear why the mayflies showed up in West Hempfield Township, but a swarm in Wisconsin last year was reportedly so big it showed up on local radar.
