CHELTENHAM, Pa. (CBS) -- Authorities responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident in Cheltenham, where one car ended up in the Tookany Creek.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on Tookany Creek Parkway near Ashmead Road.

Officials say officers found that three cars were involved after sliding on a section of black ice just south of Ashmead Road.

Police say the first vehicle overturned as a result and was subsequently struck by the second. The third vehicle, trying to avoid the other two, crossed the highway and landed in the Tookany Creek.

Authorities say the driver of the first vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the two occupants of the vehicle that went in the creek were also transported to the hospital to be evaluated.

The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured.
