Suspect With Box Cutter Reportedly Threatens Man Walking In Rittenhouse

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly threatened a man with a box cutter in Rittenhouse.

On Monday, June 22, 2015 around 9:20 a.m., the victim, a 59-year-old male, was reportedly walking from the PATCO station at 1600 Locust Street when an unknown male approached him.

The suspect then grabbed the victim by the throat and threatened him with a box cutter.

After the victim fought off his attacker, the suspect was last seen on the PATCO platform.

The suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 50 years old and about 5'10" or 5'11". He weighs about 220 lbs and has a heavy build and a surgical scar on his chest. He was wearing a black shirt, green shorts, sandals and white socks and was armed with a silver box cutter.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
