Suspect Arraigned In Fatal Shooting Of Philadelphia Police Officer

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — One of two brothers charged in the fatal shooting of a Philadelphia police officer during a gunfight at a video game store has been arraigned on murder charges.

Twenty-four-year-old Ramone Williams was arraigned early Saturday. His brother, 29-year-old Carlton Hipps, remains hospitalized. Authorities say he's wearing the slain officer's handcuffs.

Officer Robert Wilson III was buying a present for his son while on duty Thursday when police say the brothers entered the store to rob it. Police say Wilson exchanged fire with the suspects and was shot multiple times in the body and head.

Police officials say the 8-year veteran saved lives by drawing fire away from other patrons in the store.

It's unclear if either suspect has an attorney who can comment on the charges.
