Knife-wielding Suspect Steals Tip Jar From Philadelphia Store, Then Attempts To Rob Gas Station Minutes Later

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police in Philadelphia are searching for a suspect wanted for multiple robberies in Parkwood Manor and Torresdale.

On Oct. 30 around 9:54 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Fresh Works at 4048 Woodhaven Road.

When police arrived, an employee said a white male entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money from the register.

An employee told the suspect there was no money, so the suspect then stole the tip jar from the counter and fled the scene.

About 10 minutes later, officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Getty gas station at 8789 Frankford Avenue.

An employee at the Getty told officers an unknown white male armed with a knife had walked in demanding money from the register. After refusing the suspect's demands, he fled empty-handed in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a white male with a beard. He's about 5'11"-6'0" with a thin build and was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a red t-shirt underneath, black sweatpants, gray shoes and sunglasses.

Anyone with information should call police.
