Miles Cohen, the artistic director for the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, says the venue provides the audience with an intimate look at an artist who performs in spectacles all over the world.

"When you have a recital, it's just her and a pianist -- there's no more mask to hide behind, so to speak, there's no more staging behind her, so you get the real Susan Graham," he explains.

And the program offers something for everyone.

"She'll be singing French songs, maybe some Italian arias that she's considered, and she'll also work in more popular songs -- maybe some Cole Porter -- at the end," Cohen says.
