Surveillance Video Released In Deadly Southwest Philadelphia Hit-And-Run; Driver Sought

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video in hopes of identifying the suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run that left one man dead.

It happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 6200 block of Kingsessing Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia (See Related Story).

A 32 -year-old man was standing in the shoulder of the westbound lane attempting to repair his bicycle.

According to investigators, a possible dark colored Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling west on Kingsessing Avenue struck the man, severely injuring him.

As captured on surveillance video, investigators say the vehicle briefly came to a stop then continued traveling west on Kingsessing Avenue.

The victim was taken to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he later died from his injuries.
