Study Shows No Link Between Autism And Vaccines
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Good news for parents: New research shows there is no connection between vaccines and autism.
Researchers studied the vaccine that protects against measles, mumps and rubella.
The study, which is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, included nearly 100,000 children.
Scientists found the MMR vaccine was not associated with an increased risk – even if the child's siblings have autism.
"These findings indicate no harmful association between MMR vaccine receipt and ASD (autism spectrum disorders) even among children already at higher risk for ASD," the researchers conclude.
