Study: More Than Two-Thirds Of Americans Are Overweight Or Obese

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new study has some scary revelations.

The research, which is published in JAMA Internal Medicine, found that more than two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese.

Using the most recent data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2007-2012), scientists say they were able to update the statistics to reflect the prevalence of obesity.

While more men than women are considered overweight, more women are obese.

Obesity surgeons also say their patients are getting younger and younger.
