Study: 76 Percent Of Employees Are Tired Most Weekdays

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A study by The Virgin Pulse Institute says that more than three quarters of employees are tired most days of the workweek.

The study was done in November 2013 with approximately 1,140 employees, all Virgin Pulse members, from three United States based companies.

The research revealed that along with the 76 percent of employees that felt tired most days of the week, 40 percent of employees doze off during the day at least once a month, while 15 percent doze off during the day at least one a week to once per day.

So, what caused all of the sleep problems?

More than 85 percent of employees said the temperature was too high or too low and the second biggest sleep distraction was their partner.

Unwanted noise, bright light, bad mattress, young children and a medical condition that disturbs sleep rounded out the list.
