Students Hold Informal Dance Party To Help Welcome Musical To Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Students at a local high school help welcome a Tony-winning musical to Philadelphia.

Students at Philadelphia's High School for the Creative & Performing Arts held an informal dance party on their front lawn to welcome the award-winning Kinky Boots to town on Thursday afternoon.

"As soon as the lights go on or somebody puts on the music and I say it's showtime the energy level is just 150."

And of course the students dressed for the occasion.

"Red Dr. Martens."

"They're just plain tan boots. I just think they're really comfortable and they're fun to party in."

"I'm wearing brown combat boots."

"They're black plain Dr. Martens."

Many of the students say they cannot wait to see Kinky Boots and this performance got them in the mood to do just that.
