Student ID'd, Charged After Allegedly Flying Drone Over Center City Protest

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say a college student has been charged after allegedly flying a drone over a protest in Center City.

Officials have identified the man as 20-year-old Joseph Roselli.

A police helicopter was above the protest with several news station helicopters and police say the drone came dangerously close to the choppers multiple times.

Authorities were able to find the alleged drone operator on the roof of 2930 Market Street, according to investigators.

Roselli is charged with Aggravated Assault, Causing/Risking Catastrophe, Simple Assault, and recklessly Endangering Another Person.

These are state charges, not federal.

Police say the drone flying so close to other helicopters could have put a lot of people in danger.
