Student Charged With Biting Teacher At School In South Jersey

VINELAND, N.J. (CBS) -- A student was arrested after police say he bite a teacher during after-school detention at a school in South Jersey.

The incident happened at about 2:45 p.m. on March 26th at the Creative Achievement Academy on E. Landis Avenue in Vineland.

According to investigators, the 16-year-old student became irate because he did not want to stay for detention.

The teen attempted to walk out of the room. As he walking out, Vineland Police say he pushed and then bit a teacher on his arm.

The 16-year-old was placed under arrest. He was processed on a juvenile complaint and released to a family friend.

The teacher refused medical attention at the scene, but he was treated by the in-school nursing staff.
