State Police ID Victims Of Fiery I-78 Crash

LENHARTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — State police have identified three people killed in a fiery interstate crash in eastern Pennsylvania.

Authorities say 52-year-old Robert Rosner of Allentown, 57-year-old Edward Dearden of York and 54-year-old Theresa Dearden of York were killed in the crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 78 in Greenwich Township.

A total of seven vehicles were involved.

State police say a tractor-trailer was attempting to pass a slow-moving box truck in the right lane and struck a car. That triggered a chain-reaction crash involving those three vehicles and four others, several of which burst into flames.

Emergency crews from Berks and Lehigh counties responded to the scene.

The highway near the accident scene was shut down for several hours.
