St. Joseph's 2nd-Look Trey Beats Rhode Island, 65-64

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Chris Wilson missed a 3-pointer as time was winding down, but Aaron Brown grabbed the offensive rebound and kicked the ball back out to Wilson, who nailed the winning trey on his second try as St. Joseph's upended Rhode Island 65-64 on Wednesday night.

Isaiah Miles scored seven of his 13 points to fuel a 9-3 run late in the game that put St. Joseph's (11-12, 5-6 Atlantic 10) in the lead 61-59 but then neither team scored for two minutes.

E.C. Matthews sank a pair of free throws with 1:36 left to tie, 61-61, and then Hassan Martin scored a layup and later sank one of two foul shots as Rhode Island (16-6, 8-3) led 64-62 with 27 seconds left.

DeAndre Bembry led the upset with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists, James Demery added 11 points and Wilson finished with 10.

Matthews scored 17 for Rhode Island.
