St. Joe's Late Rally Falls Short In 77-62 Loss To Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Kendall Anthony scored 19 points and Trey Davis had 14 with 12 rebounds as Richmond defeated Saint Joseph's 77-62 Saturday.

Six players hit 3-pointers for the Spiders (14-6, 4-1 Atlantic 10), who had 10. Cedrick Lindsay had 16 points and reserves Deion Taylor and Terry Allen had 11 and 10, respectively.

Halil Kanacevic had 21 points and a career-high 19 rebounds for the Hawks (13-6, 3-2). Langston Galloway, who had 13 points, had three 3's to set St. Joe's career record with 296.

Richmond led 35-28 at halftime by hitting 7 of 14 3's. The lead was 64-45 on a Davis dunk with 4:34 to play. St. Joe's raced back to cut it to eight with 2:22 to play but the Spiders hit enough free throws — 21 of 30 overall — to pull away again.

The Hawks had 70 shots, courtesy of 21 offensive rebounds, but shot 37 percent.
