St. Christopher's Hospital For Children Celebrates 140th Anniversary

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  St. Christopher's Hospital for Children Celebrates its 140th anniversary with an ongoing event that looks at the history of the hospital.

Kate Donaghy with St. Christopher's Hospital says during their series, they examine the medical profession since the hospital's inception.

"We are looking at decades of what was going on at St. Chris and/or what was going on in Philadelphia at that time," Donaghy told KYW Newsradio.

Donaghy says the series also shines a spotlight on the medical milestones St. Christopher's has achieved over the years.

"There have been so many milestones, many firsts here at St. Chris.  Having the opportunity to learn a lot about those firsts and what that did to the citizens in Philadelphia is endearing," she said.

The 14-week event ends in late March and in April, the hospital plans on unveiling of the hospital's new tower.
