Speed Limit Restored On Expressways In Philadelphia Region

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (CBS) -- PennDOT has lifted the speed limit restrictions that were in place on several expressways in the Philadelphia region a day after a powerful winter storm battered the east coast.

Speed limits were reduced on Friday to 45 mph on all interstates and several other expressways across the region as a result of the heavy snow, but all speeds were restored to their usual posted limits on Sunday afternoon.

PennDOT continued to treat roadways in the area and said it would continue until roads were clear.

The department was asking motorists to allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks and was cautioning drivers never to attempt to pass a truck while it is plowing or salting the roads.
