Special Plate Claims It Sucks Calories From Your Food

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It sounds like a dieter's dream: a plate that sucks the calories right out of your food.

It's called the AbsorbPlate. Here's how it's supposed to work:

The plate has 500 small holes on the bottom. Those holes are intended to suck the grease and oil from your food.

Developers of the plate say it cuts about 30 calories from each meal eaten off of it.

There is no word on when this plate will be available to consumers.
