Southwest Philadelphia Woman Stabbed To Death

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An elderly woman was stabbed to death Saturday in Southwest Philadelphia. Authorities say it looks like a family member was responsible.

It was a little after 5:30 in the evening when police say a 70-year-old woman was found inside her home with multiple stab wounds in her body.

She was pronounced dead on the scene.

No arrests were made but authorities believe they know who did this, the elderly woman's 29-year-old relative.

The stabbing happened on Caesar place near 80th Street.

"I can not believe this," said Victor Jackson, who lives nearby.

He told CBS 3 Eyewitness News the victim was well liked in the community.

"For current events she was always a good conversationalist for that, always looked forward to speaking with her," Jackson said.

Neighbors say this was her home for a very long time.
