South Jersey Teenager Killed In DUI Incident

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A driver struck and killed a teenager in South Jersey early Sunday morning, and it appears alcohol was a factor.

17-year-old Antwan Timbers was walking with a friend near Route 130 South and East Federal Street in Burlington City when he was struck just after midnight.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authroties arrested the driver, 42-year-old Ricardo Patterson of Willingboro, who reamined on the scene. He has been charged with Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving.

The Burlington County proesctuors office will now determine if criminal charges should be filed against Patterson.

Timbers was a senior at Burlington City High School. Counslelors will be on hand Monday to assist grieving students.

An autopsy is pending.
