South Jersey Man Convicted In Shooting That Seriously Injured Girlfriend

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A southern New Jersey man accused of shooting and seriously wounding his girlfriend has been convicted of multiple counts of aggravated assault and weapons offense.

Camden County prosecutors say 37-year-old Timothy Horne, of Sicklerville, faces a 40-year state prison term when he's sentenced July 7.

The shooting occurred in August 2013 in the victim's Camden home. Authorities say the then-33-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen and was then taken to a hospital by Horne, who fled before police arrived at the building.

Horne was captured about an hour later while driving the victim's vehicle in Camden. Authorities say Horne told them the shooting was an accident and that it occurred during a domestic dispute.
