South Jersey Man Charged With Severely Beating Fiance's Toddler Son

SEWELL, N.J. (CBS) -- A New Jersey man is behind bars and is being charged with critically injuring his fiance's 2-year-old son.

Washington Township Police say 23-year-old Giovanni Crucitti of Sewell, New Jersey beat his fiance's two-year-old son so badly that the boy's kidney failed.

The toddler was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he remains listed in critical condition.

Police say Crucitti is charged with attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault.

He was being held on $350,000 bail.
