South Jersey Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Elderly Father On Memorial Day

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) -- Authorities say a man from Williamstown, New Jersey has been charged with fatally stabbing his 70-year-old father on Memorial Day.

Officials say Joseph J. Zambuto, 34, and his father, also named Joseph, got into an argument Monday afternoon.

Joseph Zambuto is accused of then stabbing his elderly father in his Meade Court home.

He was arrested shortly after the incident.

Police say father and son lived next door to one another.  The younger Zambuto owned both homes, officials say.

Authorities say Joseph J. Zambuto is being held in default of $1 million bail.

An autopsy by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office determined the cause of death was a knife wound to the chest.
