SEWELL, N.J. (CBS) -- A South Jersey high school teacher is being held on $300,000 bail after being charged with taking pictures up the skirts of girls in his classroom.

Adam L. Mayr, an English teacher at Gloucester County Institute of Technology, has been charged with invasion of privacy, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.

The 37-year-old Mayr, of Washington Township, was arrested on March 13th.

Mayr is accused of secretly creating images of private areas of students at the high school. Investigators said Mayr snapped the pictures of at least nine different girls.

According to investigators, the acts are all said to have occurred in the school.

A student told her mother about the possible peeping going on, and her mother told school officials leading to an investigation.

The GCIT administration became aware of the allegations on Thursday, March 12th and they notified law enforcement the same day.

Mayr was placed in the Salem County Jail on $300,000 bail.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office is working with the GCIT administration to identify all affected students and notify their families. Anyone with information about possibly affected students is asked to contact the GCPO Major Crimes Unit at 856-384-5500.
