Elwood's mom, Karen Quigley -- a special education teacher at Gloucester County College, in Sewell, NJ -- organized the event at the Adelphia Restaurant, in Deptford, to raise $10,000 to seed the scholarship.

She says the scholarship will be awarded annually to a Gloucester County College student who has special needs of his or her own.  And, she says, she's especially looking for someone who also is volunteering time to help homeless animals.
