South Jersey Couple Charged After Infant Son Drowns in Bathtub

DEPTFORD, N.J. (CBS) -- A Deptford couple has been charged with child endangerment after their six-week-old infant died in the bathtub of the family apartment a week and a half ago.
Maurice Brown, 27, and his 33-year-old girlfriend, Shannon Schonewolf, are being held in lieu of $100,000 bail each.
Investigators say the infant boy drowned after his mother fell asleep while taking a bath with the infant lying on top of her.
When the woman awoke shortly before noon on June 8th, Deptford Township police were called to the couple's apartment. The child died at Inspira Hospital a short time later.
