Police: 2-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Attacked By Pit Bulls Inside Port Richmond Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 2-year-old boy has died after being attacked by two pit bulls inside a Port Richmond home on Wednesday evening.
Police were called to the 3100 block of Agate Street around 5:20 p.m. for reports of a child and adult being attacked by dogs. When police arrived, they saw a toddler being mauled and an adult being attacked.

Police say officers then opened fire, hitting three dogs. Two of them were killed, and the other one was wounded. There are a total of six dogs at the residence.
The child was transported to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children in extremely critical condition. The child died from his injuries at 6:05 p.m.
The adult has been transported to Temple University Hospital. There is no word on the adult's condition.
Police are investigating the incident.
Police say the boy's family could face reckless endangerment or child endangerment charges.
