DA: White House Fence Jumper Killed After Attacking Sheriff's Deputy With Knife

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed after stabbing a sheriff's deputy at the Chester County Justice Center, according to District Attorney Tom Hogan.
DA Hogan says the suspect appears to be the same man who jumped the White House fence earlier this year.
The DA says Curtis Smith, of Coatesville, was fatally wounded by a sheriff's deputy after he allegedly attacked another deputy with a knife.
A witness says the man burst through the doors of the Chester County Justice Center yelling, "I'm gonna getcha."
The stabbing victim is being treated for wounds to his hand and arm.
Chopper 3 was over the scene of the shooting on 200 block of W. Market Street in West Chester.
Authorities say the incident occurred just before noon Tuesday.
District Attorney Hogan says the Justice Center was evacuated after a lockdown to secure the scene, and it is closed for the remainder of the day.
He says, "Unfortunately, because of incidents like this across the country, we have learned how to deal with an attack in a courthouse."
The incident is under investigation.
