Son Charged With Murdering Parents At South Jersey Home

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (CBS) - Authorities have charged a 28-year old man with murder after his parents were found dead inside their West Deptford home Friday.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's office says a relative of 58-year old Edward Coles Jr. called police a little before noon when he stopped by their Pennfield Drive home after being unable to reach Coles and his 55-year old wife, Rosemarie, by phone the night before.

When police arrived, 28-year old Ryan Coles was inside the home with his two deceased parents. He was taken to Inspira hospital for a medical evaluation before being charged, and is now being held on $1-million bail.

The medical examiner's office says the cause of death for both Edward and Rosemarie is blunt force trauma to the head. The couple were the former owners of Coles Music Service in Mantua Township where their son also worked.
