Some USCG Members In South Jersey Heading Home For The Holidays

CAPE MAY COUNTY, N.J. (CBS) - They'll be home for Christmas!

Some members of the US Coast Guard stationed in South Jersey are going home for the holidays thanks to money raised by the Stone Harbor/Avalon American Legion.

Four members of the USCG and their families are going on an all expense paid trip home.

"One family is going to Pensacola, Florida, one to Miami, one to North Carolina and the other to Alabama," says Jim Fleischman with post 331. "Two of them are flying and two of them are driving."

He says they get sent home with money to travel with:

"They have money to take their family out to dinner. We send flowers to mom to say Merry Christmas's. It's a pretty neat trip."

Post 331 raised the money for the trips. Those flying will be picked up in Cape May by a limo and driven to Philadelphia International Airport and onto to surprise their family.
