Social Media Today: Twitter Q1 Earnings, F8 Conference Returns, SVU Marathon Trends

Twitter's Q1 Earnings

Twitter has just reported on its First Quarter 2014 financial earnings and the numbers have beaten Wall Street predictions except where it really mattered, that all-important monthly active users number.

Twitter has 255 million users, up slightly from 241 million in the previous quarter.

Facebook has resurrected its F8 conference

After a three-year hiatus, Facebook's F-8 developer conference is back.

The day long event San Francisco features a keynote from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

F8 is geared toward Facebook's developers who build apps and services that work in conjunction with the social network.

USA's "SVU" marathon a hit with ratings and social media

The USA Network ran a "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" marathon on Sunday in partnership with the Joyful Heart Foundation and the NO MORE campaign.

The 16 hour marathon centered on domestic violence cases. The episodes delivered double-digit ratings increases with an average of 2.6 million total viewers.

The hashtags #sayNOMORE, #NOMORE and #NOMOREexcuses trended nationally.
