Social Media Leads To Arrest Of Alleged Bank Robber

EVESHAM, NJ (CBS) – Social media may have helped solve a crime in Evesham, New Jersey.

Police say they arrested a Berlin man accused of robbing two banks after a Facebook user recognized the man from surveillance video posted the Evesham Police Facebook page.

Authorities say Brandon Stevens, 24, is suspected of robbing the Evesham Citizens Bank on April 29 and the BB&T Bank on May 3.

Police say a Facebook follower recognized the male in the surveillance video as one of his or her coworkers.

Stevens has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree robbery.

He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $150,000 bail, police say.
