PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Vice President Biden silenced the will-he-won't-he game dubbed "Biden Watch" online with
a statement today from the White House's Rose Garden.

Social media had a lot to say about Biden 2016 decision.

#BidenWatch is officially over but the conversation continues online. Some presidential hopefuls reacted on Twitter.

Hillary Clinton tweeted ".@VP is a good friend and a great man. Today and always, inspired by his optimism and commitment to change the world for the better. -H"

Bernie Sanders tweeted: "I thank @VP for his continued service to the nation and his support of the middle class."

U.S. Rep Brendan Boyle U.S. back tracked from an earlier tweet saying Biden was running now tweeting "I'm surprised. Clearly something changed. Like many, I admire & respect VP Biden. In the meantime I'll stick to my day job!"

And there were also some references to 'Back To The Future.'

Others were just sad about his announcement.
