Snow On Roof Knocks Major TV Station Off Air In Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa (CBS) -- Snow piled on the roof is apparently responsible for taking one of the major TV stations in south central Pennsylvania off the air.
The studios of WGAL-TV, the NBC affiliate for Harrisburg, York and Lancaster were evacuated Friday afternoon when the roof of the Lancaster-based station buckled.
"We heard a loud noise and ran to the part of the building which was just adjacent to our newsroom and saw that there appeared to be some structural damage," " said John Humphries, WGAL's general manager. "So we got everybody out of the building."
The station Friday night was streaming newscasts on its website while viewers of Comcast in Harrisburg watched Olympics coverage and news via feeds from NBC stations in adjacent markets.
