Snow May Impinge on Rehearsal Day For Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Parade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tomorrow is a big day for thousands of people involved in Philadelphia's 95th annual Thanksgiving Day parade, which takes place one day later.

Wednesday is scheduled to be a marathon day of outdoor rehearsals for the televised parade.  But it comes with the threat of snow.

Marching bands from around the country, dancers, choirs, camera and sound operators are among those participating tomorrow in the run-through for the nation's oldest Thanksgiving Day parade.

Todd Marcocci, the parade's co-producer (top photo), says they'll do as much tomorrow as the weather will allow.

"Of course we will be monitoring everything as time goes on, and if we have to 'mark' through things rather than do things full-out for camera rehearsals, we will certainly do that," he tells KYW Newsradio.  "Certainly, safety is the first concern."

The Philadelphia Streets Department says it is keeping a close eye on things and will utilize snow and ice removal crews along the parade route as needed.
